April 8th -18th

Students explored simple machines and the uses of simple machines in complex machines. They had to complete a Rube Goldberg cartoon which was due Monday, April. 15th.  Students then investigated Work, Mechanical Advantage, Speed Ratio, and Efficiency. Thursday April 18th they completed a topic 1-3 quiz.  Students will begin looking at Force and Pressure when they are back from the long weekend.  If students completed all in class work than there is no homework over the long weekend.

January 14th - 18th

This week students worked on the " Exquisite Corpse" project. Students created drawings of creatures where one student drew the head, a different student drew the torso, and another student drew the feet. They could not see what the other students drew. Once they got their drawings back they needed to complete stories the incorporated the 7 characteristics of living things:  movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, and nutrition. ( MRS  GREN) The project outline and rubric can be found under the Cells and Systems page of this blog Projects are due Monday, January 21st. I3  ( I-Cubed)  Every Friday students are working through on a cross-curricular project called I-Cubed. Through this project students will be exploring the design process and creating and marketing their own inventions/innovations. October 1st - 4th

Students have finished topics 1-3 of Light and Optics and have their topic test Tuesday ( 8-5) or Wednesday ( 8-1 and 8-2). Any worksheets/labs/investigations we have done this week are now under the Light and Optics page. There is also a revision list of everything we have covered in topics 1-3. The cow eye dissection will not be next Thursday, sorry for any confession!
